El final de la història de la Lia i en Colvin

Títol: The Scourge of Muirwood
Autor: Jeff Wheeler
Saga: Legends of Muirwood -3

I have enjoyed this one as the previous ones. From the first page, you get hooked on the story and you need to read until the end.

In this book, the hetaera are winning more power, and it seems that all would end in a fatal way. Lia can't tell anyone who she really is, and Hillel is growing evil and evil. But we also know the story of the parents of Lia and why his father prepared all the things for the moment she needed them.

I really like Maderos and how he is always in the story, even when we don't know that he is there.

At the end, I decided that I really wanted to read the series of the Covenant of Muirwood. They were already in my ebook :-)

I think that this book is better than the first one in the series. It may be that now I know about the world and the style of the author, but I have enjoyed it from the first sentence of the book.

It is the story of Lia and Colvin, and how their relationship is evolving. I don't usually like books that are only love stories, but this book has some story and the love story is only part of the book. And I also like the strength of Lia, who is not the typical girl in love, but that she sometimes is stronger than Colvin. I have really loved when Colvin comes to her for help, and I really liked how they bear their own oaths and commitments.

It is also interesting the story of Scarseth, who is again a bad guy in this book. But the worse guy is Dieyre, who you end up hating with all your hearth.

The final part of the book tells us some of what is going to happen in the next one: Lia has to find Marciana, and Colvin and Hillel have to inform about the Blight. I hope that the new book would be as good as this one!

I must admit that Ineeded some time to be caugth by this book. I was not interested on it until Almager appearead. It tells the story of a wretched (a girl that was left on an abbey when she was born and nobody knows who are they parents) that lives in Muirwood. She is different from the other wretcheds, and her highest desire is to learn to read. She can perform magic, something that only noble people can do after years of study, but she has learned to do it by herself.

One night a man comes to the kitchen where she works with a wounded man. He is a maston, from a noble family. He is cousin of the king, but he wants to dethrone him. He ends up being a young maston, which is not of age, and he is more afraid than he wants to show.

When Almager comes to the abbey searching for the man (Colvin), we discover that Lia is special (ok, like in many books) and she is from a noble family.

Lia and Colvin then have to scape from Almager, and Lia is going to know more about her past... with some big questions still to answer.

The book is amusing and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
