 I wanted to read this book to know more things about Cedar's parents and why she ended up being Maeve's child. But I'm a little disappointed, because we don't know anything new. It is the story of how Kier and Lorcan had to finish their relationship because Kier was forced to marry Brogan (the king) and how Lorcan started to have more power, until Kier and Brogan died. It has been interesting to read, but in fact, there is no new information in the book.

In this book, like in the previous two, the accion starts in the first pages, and it keeps you hooked all the book.

I have really loved the new kinds of Unseen (the magical creatures in the Earth), and I have suffered for their lives, specially for the life of Bridghid. Bridghid started as a character I didn't like in the first book, to evolve to a very strong and deary one.

 But there are three things in this book that I didn't like:

 1. The obsession of Cedar with clothes. Really. I don't really care if she is wearing a dress or jeans. Why is it always talking about the clothes she is wearing (and no one talks about Finn's, or the other people?)

 2. When they go to Aasgard, they face some problems. I was waiting for a big battle, or something that went for some pages. But it was over in a few lines. I felt that it was all so easy.

 3. The more important thing is the one related to humans leaving in Tir na nÓg. In the first book, Lorcan dies because he becomes human and he ages some centuries in a moment. But in this book, we find that humans can live in Tir na nÓg for centuries and, if they return to the Earth, they only start aging as if they wouldn't have spent any time in Tir na nÓg. In this case, Lorcan wouldn't have aged and he wouldn't have died. It was a little annoying.

 Anyway, I liked the book, and I want to read the prequel, to know more about Cedar's parents.

In this book, Cedar returns to her planet, to discover that Nuala wants to be queen and destroy the humanity. The only way to prevent this from happening is to become queen herself. But the council gives her a quest: she has a week to find the Lia Fáil, a stone that has been lost for centuries, and step into it. As the stone revels the inner self of people, it has to show that she is the real queen.

So it starts a new quest against the clock to find the stone, with lots of action and new legendary stories.

In the meantime, Nuala is trying to convince the council to be queen before the end of the week, while she is conspiring with the druids.

This is a book that you can read in a few time, since it keeps you hooked and it's not long.

 Cedar McLeod is very happy with her life and her boyfriend, Finn, when she discovers that she is pregnant. Before she finds the courage to tell Finn, he disappears without any trace. Some years later, she brings up her daughter Eden with the help of her mother when she discovers that Eden can open doors that communicate to any place in the world.

 She tries to find Finn again, and then she discovers that Finn (and her daughter) are Tuatha Dé Danann, people from another world, Tír na nÓg, and they have some habilities. But then, Nuala, one of the Tuatha Dé Danann kidnaps Eden and then Cedar, her mother and the rest of the Tuatha try to find them.

 This is a fantasy book, that is part of a trilogy (or tetralogy?), that introduces us to this world. In this first book we do not read much of Tír na nÓg, but we know about their people, the gifts that they have, and how each person has a different gift (or sometimes, two).

 During the book I was annoyed with the writer, because everyone knew a lot of things about Cedar and her past (even her own mother!), but anyone tells her about it. I wanted to know what was happening, and it was a little frustrating (just what Cedar experienced). But, anyway, this fact kept me hooked and there was not only the desire to know what would happen to Eden, but also to know who was Cedar's mother and who was really Cedar.

 The end is something especial. Just when Cedar realizes what she should do to save Eden, I realized it at the same time, so it was not a surprise to me the words she says to Finn and what she does. However, I must admit that I had the hope that she wouldn't need to do what she finally did, and it's one of the few books that have made me cry (and it's not easy!)

 I am looking forward to reading the second book of the series, and I hope that it would be so good as this one.

Next book in "learning" English: The job offer. Ok: it doesn't seem to be a great book, but it was free!
